AAAA!! WTF?!?!?!

Pushing Daisies is on! I missed 20 minutes! It’s not recording for some reason, and I can’t make it record. OH NO! WTF is happening? It says no DVR and my DVR is not full!

And Nick is getting snacks and missing it and I can’t tape it!

AUGH! WTF, ABC? I didn’t even know this would be showing!

Attn: New Yorkers

The costumes from Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet are on display at Columbus Circle, opposite the Borders.

That dress is there, among many others. The exhibit comes down after tomorrow, though.

Stupid Dutch ovens

Infuriatingly, all the things I want to try cooking right now involve a Dutch oven. (Or a French oven, if you’re Le Creuset.) It’s like every time I think of something interesting I want to try cooking, the recipe is like, “You’ll need garlic, half an onion, a chicken breast, and oh yeah, a bunch of expensive pots you don’t own.”

I could make all the soup in the world in my enormous pasta pot, but soup is boring.

This lady has a Fortuny Delphos gown for sale with its original box. Wow!

I’m all for historicity, but this is ridiculous

Do you really have to print out a form and mail a check through the postal service to purchase patterns from Wingeo.com?

There’s no online ordering? No paypal store? Weird … I mean, I know my goal is to reproduce historical dresses, but that’s downright old-school.

(I want the française and anglaise patterns. And possibly one of the hats.)

The Vampire Diaries to the CW

http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2009/05/if_you_thought_twilight_was_ha.html

Oh hell. I could escape being embarrassed by Twilight, as it’s totally not my thing. However, The Vampire Diaries were explicitly my thing. I was obsessed with them in 7th grade.

Gah! I thought I was safe, but no.

Agh, was it this silly when I was 13?

Despite having been very far ahead in sewing, I’m now a little bit behind in sewing. I really badly wanted to do a test-shoot last night, but I didn’t get home till after 12 from work. I have a couple more closures to sew.

My hat is finished, if a little QAD*. Unfortunately something came up and I needed it right away, so I didn’t have time to document the progress. Still monkeying with the feather.

In good news, I gave my wig a rinse this morning and it appears the blue rinse has finally stuck. It took an act of god (in this case, soaking it for a couple hours in a bucket of high-concentrate ink/alcohol mix and then letting it dry overnight without rinsing it. When I rinsed it this morning, it didn’t look like the blue was running off. I’ll see it dry when I get home, so cross your fingers. (omg, what if it is *too* blue? @_@)

According to FWD’s Dictionary of Theater:

QAD or quick-and-dirty: The way you sew a tie with one long running stitch while running from the costume shop to back stage left because your boss is screaming “Where is Caesar’s tie? Who made Caesar’s tie? What do you mean none of you made Caesar’s tie!” and it’s house-at-half. No edges are finished, because he’s got a vest on and no one will see it. But he can’t go without a tie, because God and the shop manager hate you.

The manga has infected my brain

I’m almost glad I don’t have a house or condo to decorate, because I’m having a bizarre brain issue where scouting for Kuroshitsuji photo locations has wormed its way into my cerebellum.

Case in point, this chair:

I want to go to there.

The seat is hand-tattooed leather.

Elgin: I want to go to there

I don’t even know where Elgin is, but I want to go to there.

Check out that house. It’s amazing, spectacular, and kind of perfect. (My taste is far from minimalist). And it’s only $300K! Seriously, real estate is freaking weird. ($300k is less than the 520-sq-ft place we saw near us with the hole in the ceiling, and the “original floor” (That is not a feature in a building built in 1890!) with the 1/4″ gaps between the boards.)

I am still at work

It is almost 10. La la la la la.

So, no gym or sewing tonight. Rage.
